A beautiful 1946 Martin for sale (serial number #96704). It’s got everything you ask for, and everything you desire from a vintage Martin, everything that makes these guitars so special and sought after. Awesome looks, ultra comfortable to play, and a huge, warm, woody sound that only an old Martin can make. This is an auditorium sized Martin 000-21 flat top built to be enjoyed at home or in front an audience, it’s a wonderful guitar that sounds amazing with all styles of play. Built in Nazareth, Pa. with the high quality materials, and craftsmanship that makes a Martin, a Martin. Kind of a rare bird here in front of you to consider purchasing, as there were only 134 of these made in 1946.
Sitka Spruce and beautiful Brazilian Rosewood
A few interesting features to point out on this 000-21, is that 46′ was the last year with an Ebony bridge, and fingerboard, also replaced was the herringbone sound hole and back stripe, because the material was becoming scarce and costly. This guitar has been treated very well over the last 75 years and does not need any repair work done to it, nor has any major repair done. The bridge appears to have been re-glued at some point. Overall, it’s an excellent example of a vintage Martin with low action, and super comfortable rounded contour neck that feels right at home in your hands. The neck feels like a full C meets a soft V… not quite as slim feeling that earlier Martin’s are known for.
