What makes this guitar special? This is a fantastic Strat across the board in terms of looks, sound, and playability, and holds a place in history as well. In terms of look, this model looks remarkably close to the classic appearance of an SRV Strat with its 3 Tone Sunburst finish, tortoiseshell pickguard, and gold hardware, but with the addition of a custom Collector’s Edition neck plate and 1997 inlay in the 12th fret. The pickups in this guitar sound great and posses a bit more twang in each position (especially the middle and neck) than what comes loaded in your every day American Standard. The neck is easy, the action is excellent, and it’s a perfect tribute to its heritage, making it an exemplary model for most collections.
